How We Prepare

So, how exactly do we prepare for a new season to ensure our customers are getting the best experience? Unfortunately, there is no step-by-step, quick guide to “get prepared” each time a new season arrives. The best way to be prepared is to work year-round at it, not just in the few weeks leading up to the busy season.

One way I prepare my company is by giving my employees the best training possible. We are equipped and ready to do home repairs year-round, and though we will get more calls as the weather warms, we already have all of the tools we need to succeed. For example, I complete test calls to our office regularly throughout the year. Because our employees are highly trained and good at what they do, I know that if too many calls go to the answering machine, it is likely that call volume has increased and we need to hire another office assistant. Constantly keeping up with what our company needs means that we are never panicking during the busier months, and always ready to serve our customers.

Another tool I use is to look at past trends. When it comes to running a business, the phrase “trend is your friend” is always on my mind. Whether it’s keeping up with the products customers are searching for, or looking back at sales and call volume throughout the year, I’m always identifying and learning from trends in our business. That way, we are prepared for whatever comes our way, no matter what season we are in.
